The sand golf course has had 10 weeks of golf postponed or cancelled since May.
Golf Club president Peter Murphy said it doesn’t look like they’ll be back out there anytime soon.
“[The course] is at least half under now, the whole golf course was under until the last couple of days,” he said.
As far as damage goes, Mr Murphy is unsure how the course will fair from the water damage.
“We can’t get close enough to have a look yet and we can’t do much until we see the damage,” he said.
“But there’s a levee to hold the water out from the greens and that’s been washed away so that’ll have to get fixed.”
Like many damaged properties around the Shire, the Golf Club is not insured for flood damage.
“We’ve hoping for financial assistance from Golf NSW and Sport and Rec,” Mr Murphy said.
The club president said the “Golfie” is suffering from the greens being closed.
“There’s no turnover, no green fees, if people aren’t there to play golf then they’re not there to have a beer,” he said.
Mr Murphy is hoping as the weather warms up and the rain dies down people will be more inclined to visit the “Golfie” for a beer or a ticket in the raffles while the greens dry out.
The golfers may be waiting a long time, with more rain forecast to fall this week.
WeatherZone.com.au has predicted showers for Wednesday, Thursday and on the weekend with up to five millimeters falling on Saturday.
So far Nyngan has recorded 508.7mms for the year, this is 192mms more than the same time period as last year, according to WeatherZone.
The wettest day was on July 20 when 51.4mms fell around the Shire.
