Local Ability Linker, Wendy Beetson, held a stall in the main street last Friday to create more awareness amongst our community to embrace people abilities, take action for greater inclusion and accessibility for people with disability.
Each year the United Nations announces a theme for the day. This year’s theme was Achieving 17 Goals for the Future We Want.
The goals can create a more inclusive and equitable world for people living with disability.
We need to respect the right of people with disability to live fulfilling lives as members of their communities, help to break down barriers and attitudes and support people with disability to be more included in community.
