December 18 we are having the Robbs Pork Pairs, single nominations and there will be a draw for partners, at a cost of $6 names into the club by 9am Sunday, two games of 12 ends starting at 9.30am. Every year Clive Robb donates for this event and the club thank Clive for this.
If it wasn’t for the support of this butcher helping with our raffles and the end of month $100 draw we would be at a loss. As he has the best meat in town the captain said it is the only meat he can eat and enjoy, as he’s only got two teeth and they are at the bottom, so that is good enough for me.
Names for all of next year’s championships are on the board so please try and get your names in before you go on holidays as it would be disappointing for anyone to miss out. We just had our presentation night last Friday and congratulations to all the winners but do have to mention that the most successful player for the men’s was Rick Jermyn, winning the men’s singles, and Deanna Stephens, winning the women’s singles. An achievement award went to Don Smith for the great work he does around the grounds of the bowling club and everyone who goes to the club or just drives by would agree that he does a great job we are very lucky to have a person who takes pride in what he does.
Advents to look forward to at the club are that Jonno Read said he will be back again soon this was big last year as he is very talented and we have a great band booked for new year’s eve from Newcastle, we are a club that is going forward and it is all due to your support so thank you and we will try our best to keep Nyngan a great place to be a part of. Well that’s it, got to go, and I will catch ya at the club for a cold one.

RUGBY UNION
From Warren to Western Force’s top job
By Nick McGrath
Warren junior and Australian international Ben McCalman has always shaped as a player capable of leading a side at the highest level.
He’ll get that chance in 2017 having been named co-captain of the Western Force ahead of next season’s Super Rugby championship.
The Dubbo-born No.8 has been a constant in the Force line-up since debuting against the Brumbies in Perth in 2010, and this week was revealed as co-captain alongside Heath Tessmann.
McCalman will look after the on field responsibilities of leading the Force, a natural fit for one of the club’s most respected figures.
“I’ve been here seven season now, I’m very excited about the opportunity I’ve been given and excited to work alongside Heath Tessmann, I’ve known him for a long time too,” McCalman said. McCalman and Tessman become the fourth and fifth captains of the club, with last year’s skipper Matt Hodgson remaining on board as a player in 2017.Western Force Head Coach Dave ‘Blood’ Wessels described the move as “posiitve” for the club.
