The good old yabbie races are on again, and ‘Nuffy’ Power has put his hand up to train them.
He has been to the magic crustaceans sale and purchased some great racing stock.
I hope they all make it to the races this year as last year Nuffy said some didn’t make the grade (yeh sure).
We are very lucky at the club to have the best airconditioner in Nyngan and all the activities will be inside.
Hopefully Rodney Robb will be well enough to auction the yabbies off and there will be yabbie races for the kids as well.
We are also lucky enough to have the self-proclaimed top Australian Bush band, The Willy Wag Tails, led by Greg Deacon, who was a little disappointed this year as he normally takes the band to Tamworth.
This year Macca has taken the spot.
I asked him how many songs he knew and he said about 120.
I said that is a lot of songs and he said not really, I only know 20, but I do them six different ways after my breaks, so that will be interesting.
We can all sing along as we should know them by the fifth break.
He will be accompanied by Steve Read and John Giddy with special guest performers.
There will be a free sausage sizzle on through the day, raffles and a special game of indoor bowls for the adults and we have a game for the kids as well.
There will be ‘Ned Kelly pool’ with great prize money for those who think they are lucky enough and also plenty of other competitions on the day.
If you have any ideas out there bring them along it is going to be a great fun Australia Day in Nyngan, and we will be kicking off about 1pm.
So come along and celebrate this Great Land Down Under in the ‘Coldest Club’ in Nyngan.
