Over Monday and Tuesday, Nyngan officially recorded 58 millimetres of rain.

Some residents have reported to the Nygnan Observer that their home rain gauges have recorded up to 83 millimetres, while some farms have recorded as little as 20. 

Big or small, many have welcomed the rain, particularly its timing before winter sowing season.

This recent downfall has brought the average rainfall up to 144.7mm over 14 days. This is a large increase on the 99.3mms that fell in the same period in 2016.

High chances of rain are forecast on Wednesday and Thursday (greater than 75 per cent) and Friday and Saturday (between 50 and 75 per cent) are predicted top be medium chances for rain. 

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week are also forecast between low and medium chances of rain (25 to 75 percent.)

The remainder of this week is forecast to be in the 30s with Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday all predicted to be 31 degrees with possible showers, with high chances of between zero to five millimetres.

Sunday and Monday will be warmer, with medium chances of one to five millimetres.  

The lowest temperature this month was 14.8 degrees on March 13, more than doubling the record of 6.4 degrees on March 28, 1984. The average minimum this month is 1.5 degrees above the long-term average. 

The highest temperature this month was 36 degrees on March 12. This is four degrees lower than the record on the same date in 1973 where the mercury reached 41.8 degrees Celsius. The average maximum this month is 0.8 degrees Celsius above the long-term average.
