Hermidale Hotel Publican, Mick Wells-Budd has worked with former Bogan Shire Farmer, Dom Ward, to install low cost and reliable fuel for the entire region.
According to the free Smartphone App Fuelmap, Hermidale had the cheapest diesel in the Shire on Thursday by four cents at $1.26 cents per litre compared to 130 cents per litre in town.
Mr Ward, who now works in a Business Development Role for Woodham Petroleum Services, has brought the fuel distributor to the Shire.
He knows how the cost of Fuel can impact a small business or family farm and the average consumer.
“We have a strong focus on making fuel accessible at competitive prices for those in regional and remote NSW,” Mr Ward said.
“Woodham Petroleum Services is a family owned business, operating for 35 years in the Walgett, Lightning Ridge, Coonamble, Carinda, Brewarrina, Wee Waa, Pilliga and Narrabri areas. We are a fiercely independent distributor.”
Mr Wells-Budd said the opportunity was too good to miss for the Hermidale Hotel.
“The small town needed reliable and inexpensive fuel and now we can offer a 24 hour pay station,” he said.
“We’re also pleased to support an independent fuel distributor who operates out of western NSW.”
Mr Ward is hoping people like what they see at the Hermidale Hotel.
“Our aim, through added exposure gained at Hermidale, is to develop relationships within the Bogan Shire for bulk fuel supply,” he said.
“The focus for us is delivering fuel to our customers direct from Port with minimal overhead costs.
”The new retail Facility at Hermidale is just another valuable link in the supply chain.
“Virtually any amount of Bulk fuel ordered through Woodhams’ can be delivered by our fleet of trucks from small rigid tankers through to multi-combination B-Doubles and Road Trains.
“We recognise the importance of keeping our small western communities viable into the future and we see the upgrade of existing infrastructure at Hermidale as a way in which we can contribute to that cause,” Mr Ward concluded.
