The weather also came to the party allowing fashionistas to put their best foot forward.
Club president Rowen Cleaver thanked the well-behaved crowd and the Nyngan police and community for their support.
“It was fantastic. All the fields were full for racing and Altyan Childs and his band were great,” Mr Cleaver said.
He said the organising committee had always tried to support local businesses by buying everything locally, and said it was great to see the community supporting the day as usual.
And it wasn’t just Nyngan locals flocking to Duck Creek.
The day continues to be a big draw card for Nyngan, attracting hundreds of people from elsewhere, many of whom would not otherwise visit the town.
“We work very hard at that, to make it a friendly, happy day with well-priced drinks and well-looked after [guests] so they come back again,” Mr Cleaver said.
As always, some of the money raised at the gate would be used to “look after come local charities”, Mr Cleaver said, but it was too early to say which charities would benefit.
The committee wanted to thank the Bogan Shire and the local police for their continued support of the day.
