The Molly Dookers were soundly beaten by the orthodox right handers by 25 points in Sunday's President's Trophy.
Best for the lefties were Chook Hawley 34 pts, Dorro 32 pts and Croc Read 31 pts. Stars for the right were Deb Matheson and Tex Tomek both on 41 pts and Andy Lane 40 pts, terrific score by that trio. Individual honours on a countback went to Deb with a far superior back nine.
She began that section with six straight three pointers and finished that nine with 23 pts. Tex had a pretty good back nine himself of 19 pts. Likewise Andy Lane was a big chance until the 17th where he bombed his chances scoring a solitary point finishing with 19 pts for the back nine. However Deb's last nine was a hard act to get around.
Mick Beetson, Chicky Parry, Pat Walsh all had respectable scores of 39 pts, our visitor Col Duncan from Tumut started very well with 20 pts then the trees and water for in the way on the run home and he tallied just 11 pts for that section.
Michael Gibson lead all the way for a convincing win in Saturday's medal round he finished with 63 nett about his only blemish was a three-putt on the 2nd. He is very long off the tee and once he sharpens up his short game he will be a tough competitor. Pat Walsh was next best with 65 nett and even managed to get over the cowal, hooray for him.
A pair of 66s by Rex Vane and Barry Howell was the pick of the rest. Pin winners for the weekend were Tristan Dalforno, Barry Howell, Bill Hare, Mick Beetson, Tex and Chook! Golf next Saturday in the Ted Winter Cup, a 4BBB Stableford with scratch and handicap prizes.
The game is sponsored by 'Vaneos Cafe". Sunday is a two person ambrose, both games are medley events. Badge draw is for $1100, the jackpot putt prize of $1300 plus almost went off again with Brent Harris just shaving the hole, better luck for the next trier this Thursday night.
RUGBY LEAGUE
NYNGAN TIGERS
The Mighty Tigers recorded one of their best wins for years with a gutsy against-the-odds victory over the Forbes Magpies at Spooner Oval. The boys had to overcome an 18-5 penalty count against them and at one stage in the 1st half held Forbes out for thirty straight tackles. It was on the back of that sort of defence that got our boys home.
We trailed 16-10 with 16 minutes to go we stormed home over the top of the Magpies to run out 24-16 victors. The Tigers did this without four of their regular 1st graders which made the performance even more remarkable.
Captain-coach Stuey Mills lead by example, he is a courageous player this bloke. He is fairly quietly spoken but lets his actions do the talking and the rest of the boys followed. Big Tunui was powerful once again, he has added real grunt to our pack. He scored one try and had a hand in a couple of others. The little men Goldie and Fisky were in everything, they got through a mountain of defence and were both sharp out of dummy half. Super win boys.
Dek's men kept on their winning way with a hard-fought 23-10 victory. We were down 10-6 with 15 to go but before we kicked into gear to come away with the win we played 50 minutes with 12 men after hooker Justin Cox was sent off at the 10 minute mark for what appeared to be a very minor indiscretion. We also lost arguably our best player Brad Toole early in the second half with a nasty elbow injury. Big Simon and Jeff Lennon were strong up front, as was the Fat Red Fulla. Camo was dangerous with the footy, he made big inroads and also whacked a couple in defence. He was also quite handy off the bench in 1st grade. Jarrod Shaw was another to impress.
The under 18s put in a super performance and can consider themselves unlucky not to have come away with a draw against the high-flying Magpies, due to varying reasons we could only field 14 layers with three of them being under 16s.
We trailed 18-6 at the break before dominating the second half to see the final score end up 24-18 in Forbes' favour. We looked likely to level the scores right on full time but unfortunately the ball went to ground.
Captain Clayton Couley stood up when he was needed, that's the best game he has had this season and if he can continue that sort of form we will be a force in the coming weeks.
Liam Durrington was another to impress. He has really come on in the last couple of weeks and along with big Ned Dawson they were dominant in the middle.
Hooker Jak Jeffrey did his usual job. He goes a bit unnoticed this bloke, because you just expect him to play well, Jak also did a super job for Dek in reserve grade when he was called on at the last minute.
In the backs Cooper Ryan was impressive, his defence was outstanding, he also scored a smart try. Matty McDougal continued his good form, he got us out of trouble a couple of times with his weaving runs. The ladies league tag went down to the strong Forbes outfit. The girls tried hard and can be pleased with their effort.
This weekend we are on the road again when we travel to Parkes in another important one for the club. Lastly a big thank you to the army of supporters who made the long trip to Forbes. We truly have the best support base in bush footy.

JUNIOR LEAGUE
TIGERS UNDER-12s
After three weeks off for the school holidays The Mighty Tigers Under 12s this week travelled to Cobar. And the boys picked up where they left off before the holiday break continuing their good form coming away with a massive victory against the Roosters 72-20.
The boys scored in the opening set of the game and this was a sign of what was to come as they ran in a total of 14 tries to 4. To Cobar’s credit they never stopped trying right to the final whistle and they managed to score 20 points against us but our boys were far too good on the day.
Our second rowers Cooper Black and Ty Boney ran hard and troubled the Cobar defence all day long. Nearly every time they carried the ball they opened up the opposition. They were two of the best on ground. Our two front rowers Cooper Sheridan and Issac Drady got through a mountain of work in both attack and defence and they also troubled the defence each time they carried the ball. Cooper Sheridan made 18 tackles and had 10 hit ups.
Our centres Connor Burley and Fred Gibson were strong all day. Connor put in a very dominant display picking up 2 good tries, one of which came from great backing up. Fred was busy as always. Our five eight Keylan Nichols was also very busy. He had 10 runs and broke the line several times. He was rewarded with 2 tries.
This week we welcomed back Tyson Deebank from his broken arm. He was that excited to be back on the field. He is going to play a big part in this team for the remainder of the season and throughout the semis.
Jack Melchoir had another blinder. He scored 2 tries and went looking for work in defence. One of his tries was a great wingers try where he used his speed to get on the outside of his opposing winger. Jack is growing in confidence and he is getting better and better every week. Will Black was superb as always. He scored 4 tries and had a hand in most of our others. He broke the line repeatedly and off loaded on several occasions. He was one of the best on ground.
But Our Man of the Match was our halfback Cruz Cook. He produced one of the finest displays of defence you would ever see from a 12 year old. He made 41 absolute cracking tackles which was more than double of any of his teammates and he was clearly the Man of the Match in my opinion. Well done boys. Keep working hard and the rewards will come. 3 Points went to Cruz Cook, 2 points to Cooper Sheridan and 1 point to Cooper Black. Cruz Cook also got Players’ Player.
