He is unhappy about some of the reports.
“I have tabled a Barwon-Darling River System Fact Sheet in response to recent articles in the media,” he said in a statement.
“[These articles] have been full of innuendo and make false claims about management of the Barwon-Darling River Systems.
“Management of the Barwon-Darling River System between Mungindi in the north and Menindee in the south is a specific issue relating to the Barwon Electorate.
“Effective management of this system is imperative for our communities,” he said on Monday.
Mr Humphries claims some of the recent articles in the media are biased and full of innuendo about the river system.
Throughout the fact sheet he explains the basics of the river system.
“The Barwon Darling river system is underpinned by Water Sharing Plans that commenced formation in 2004/2005,” the fact sheet states.
“The Waster Sharing Plans are inclusive of water for the environment, end-of-system flow requirements, production, stock and domestic use and in cultural recognition.
“The state has and continues to enforce water regulations in line with the WSP.”
Mr Humphries said he continues to ensure water is managed correctly.
“I am committed to ensuring that water is carefully and appropriately managed for all users and for the environment,” he said.
“I have and will continue to represent the best interest of all communities in our vast and diverse electorate,” Mr Humphries concluded.
