There was a great roll up of members and friends at our most recent Garden Club meeting, held at Mel and Don Cameron’s home. Everyone enjoyed the warm sunshine and the lovely gardens of both the Camerons and Will Marr’s next door. A big thank you to both hosts for your kind hospitality.

We have had a great response to the proposed bus trip to the Cowra Cherry Blossom Festival in September, with over thirty members friends committing to this event. Likewise, the Wellington Open Gardens trip, scheduled for October 22, has met with a lot of interest.
At the July meeting,Gai Lister gave us a comprehensive and interesting recount of the opening of the Solar Farm Viewing Platform and Bush Tucker Garden, whilst Melanie Cameron enthusiastically described all that is to be seen out at Lightning Ridge. We are considering this as a winter visit in 2018.
Both talks were greatly enjoyed by members, prompting others to volunteer to either give a talk or get a visitor to do so at future meetings. Dawn Meldrum offered to tell us all about her recent camping trip to Western Australia at our next meeting.
Members please note that we are meeting in front of the Museum at 9:30am on August 28. Button will be taking us out in his bus to see the Solar Farm Viewing Platform and Bush Tucker Garden on our way out to Trish McCleod’s place at Hermidale for our August meeting. Cost is $5. Trish is kindly providing camp oven scones for morning tea, but please bring your own lunch.
The Nyngan Hospital Auxilliary Market Day is September 15 and fast approaching so I hope those interested have been potting up some plants for our stall. Any cooking will be much appreciated too. Our raffle is a money tree, with all proceeds going to our Hospital Auxilliary.
