Nyngan is just one of nine hospitals/multi-purpose services to receive the NeoPuff Paediatric Ventilation during the Rally.
Nyngan MPS’ Service Manager Jenny Griffiths said this type of equipment can save lives in the west and helps buy times as emergency crews are assembled and travelling to Nyngan.
“When we see sick kids, they’re really sick, this will make a real difference,” she said.
The KidzFix Rally travelled from Ballina to Dubbo dropping off the ventilators to Western Area Local Health District facilities along the way.
“With Western NSW Local Health District covering some 51 per cent of the state and based out of Dubbo, it manages over 30 hospitals so our assistance will make a huge difference to many kids, families and communities, some we will pass through on route,” Kitzfit Director David Ward said.
Mr Ward is from Dubbo and identified the need for equipment out west.
Kitdzfit’s goal was to impact lives with a variety of projects rather than one large project that may limit access for many children by the remote nature of much of Western Area Health, there are multiple smaller items on the list to provide a positive impact for more children.
People come from as far as Gympie, Queensland to Dubbo, NSW and Numurkah, Victoria to help aid the needs they care so deeply about and make a much better life for sick and disadvantage Aussie kids.
Entrants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $4,500 and enter cars 20 years or older.
The reward is a week of fun, laughter dirt, mud, great memories and of course lifelong friendships with many other like minded people.
Throughout the trip the Rally raised $138,000 exceeding their $88,000 goal.
The organisers have already started counting down to the 2018 KidzFix rally. To be a part of the fun visit the Kidzfix website www.kidzfix.com.au or follow them on Facebook under the same name.
