Mary joined Girilambone CWA as a young bride in 1963 and after moving in to Nyngan in 2005, she continued her membership with the Nyngan branch.
Mary has been a tireless supporter and committed worker of CWA throughout her long membership.
During her time with Girilambone branch, Mary held many executive positions, including president and secretary, both for consecutive years, during the nineties.
Mary was warmly welcomed to the Nyngan branch, where she continued her very active involvement.
She has held the position of Country Vice President for many years and held the position of International Officer for some years, as well as Group International Officer and Vice President of the Far Western Group of CWA for three years each respectively.
Mary took on one year as the president of Nyngan CWA, where she did a wonderful job.
However, she would rather play a subordinate role to this and has been the main mover and shaker of the catering committee for the last four years.
Mary also capably fulfils the role of Publicity Officer for the Nyngan branch, and has done so for numerous years.
Mary sees the best in everyone and is the kind of person who takes the time to show a genuine interest in everyone she meets.
She has befriended many international newcomers to our town and is highly regarded by them.
She has been on the executive of the Nyngan Hospital Auxilliary for many years, where she likewise works tirelessly.
Kay Taylor and Marie Carter also received acknowledgement and appreciation for their long term and extensive involvement in CWA.
Kay has been Room Secretary for many years, managing the hall bookings and always assuring that the hall was in tip top shape, as well as being a valuable member of the catering committee for some time.
Marie has entertained us with her dancing prowess and her love for anything cultural and has always been there to help in whatever way she could.
Congratulations, Mary, Kay and Marie on receiving your very well deserved awards.
