A 48-year-old man pleaded not guilty to intimidating and assaulting police officers during a bail hearing at Dubbo Local Court on Thursday.

Police allege Robert Terrence Usher, of Toongi, threatened to assault his 72-year-old mother at a Darling Street address in Dubbo on Wednesday morning.
When police went to the property Mr Usher was alleged to have behaved in an "extremely violent" manner which resulted in a struggle, which police claim left a female constable with two fractures in her left hand and a male constable with soft tissue damage to his right hand.
Four police officers were required on the scene to subdue and arrest Mr Usher.
Police said paramedics sedated Mr Usher and he was taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment.
After being discharged, Mr Usher was charged with four offences including resisting police officers trying to do their job, intimidating police and causing actual bodily harm to a police officer. Magistrate Gary Wilson agreed with police who said Mr Usher's actions constituted an unacceptable risk to community safety.
He was denied bail and will remain in custody until his case returns to court on October 3.
"Both police officers are in good spirits, they understand the nature of the job, they're good young officers and they're keen to get back to work," Orana Mid-Western Police District commander Superintendent Peter McKenna said.
"This man was extremely violent.
"There is a culture out there, where some people think it's okay to put their hands on police. It's never okay.
"Make no mistake, if people think they can assault police or be violent to police every single time they will end up in handcuffs back at a police station and more than likely be bail refused and going before the court."
