INLAND RAIL SURVEYS
Over the next six to eight weeks ARTC will be conducting a LiDAR survey as part of the assessment process for the proposed Inland Rail corridor. Inland Rail is a new 1700km freight rail connection between Melbourne and Brisbane via regional New South Wales and Queensland that will see freight delivered on this route in less than 24 hours.
A LiDAR survey involves using survey marks on the ground and an aircraft to capture the data. For further information www.inlandrail.com.au or phone 1800 732 761.
GETTING BACK TO BUSINESS
Back to Business Week is a NSW Government initiative created to celebrate small businesses and acknowledge the critical role they play in local communities. Back to Business Week will run from 26 February to 4 March. More than 690,000 small businesses in our state make up almost 98 per cent of all businesses. Visit industry.nsw.gov.au/backtobusiness
Local Land Services is encouraging interested individuals and organisations to have their say on the draft Regional Strategic Weed Management Plan for their region. The plans are available at http://open.lls.nsw.gov.au/ and submissions can be made online until March 8.
Thumbs up to the Emergency Services volunteers who worked tirelessly over the weekend to save property from fires in our electorate in catastrophic conditions, and a particularly big shout out to crews who are continuing to work on fires in the Warrumbungle Shire.
We have already seen houses, machinery, stock and crops lost and we expect further losses to become clear over the coming days.
Emergency Services do an outstanding job and pass on my sincere thanks for their service.
