Following a decision of Council that it would be in our community’s best interests to operate the Centre ourselves, our staff, with the assistance and support of the Primary Health Network, have set the practice up and will now manage it for the benefit of our whole community into the future.

Vandalised
It is very disappointing to see that, once again, our new trees as well as a public toilet have been vandalised by thoughtless individuals.
We have recently planted trees and renovated toilets to improve Nyngan for everyone’s benefit and this vandalism makes no sense.
These cases have been reported to the Police and we will be reviewing video footage to help identify the culprits.
Also, Council is offering a cash reward for information leading to the prosecution of anyone involved in damage to, or theft of, Council property in relation to these incidents.
Relevant information may be given to the General Manger or to the NSW Police in person or via Crimestoppers visit www.crimestoppers.com.au or 1800 333 000.
Renovations underway
Council at its meeting held on 27 April 2017 took a decision to undertake the renovation of the fountain and surrounds in Centenary Park.
The original centrepiece and plumbing in no longer functional and will be part of a project which will include replacing the trees in the park.
Council accepted a proposal that the fountain pool be converted into a garden so that the fountain still operates but on a smaller scale with colourful plants around it.
At the same meeting Council resolved to amend our Development and Control Plan.
This change is to allow increases in the size of sheds that can be constructed on residential blocks.
All in the name
We are also looking for suggestions for a name for the industrial estate situated around Lawlor Street (where the new Fire Station and Rural Fire Service buildings are located).
Please let your Councillors or the General Manger know if you have any ideas before the Friday, June 9 2017.
