The shed has been sending machines to Philippines communities for the last eight years, but more sewing machines and computers are needed to meet demand.
Geoff Higgins of the Dubbo Men’s Shed has visited The Philippines 21 times and can testify to the difference that these items make to peoples lives. A large donation of laptops from Distance Education in Dubbo were sent to the city of Surigao where students were overjoyed to have them. Many computers and sewing machines have been sent to the victims of typhoon Yolanda on the island of Leyte where they have been used as vital sources of income.
