Golfing Goodness
A low scoring week in round 17 of Twilight golf. 44 points by 'Rib-eye Sparkies' and 'Murphys Mongrels'. The winning count-back team was the 'Sparkies', they got the upper hand over the cowal and the fifth hole.
It was their first ever weekly win, the team is Deb Matheson, Lee Stevens, Ali Morriss and the big improver Jordan Keighran. The leaders bit the dust with four rounds left. The points table is equal leaders 'Crack-n-Plumbers' and 'Neil Earthmoving' 23 points, 'Nyngan Innovations' 22 points.
Then we have four teams with 21 points, big threats to the leaders at this stage. Tristan Dal Forno was back to his best in Saturdays scorcher with his 40 points.
A couple of birdies on the front nine, and half a dozen pars on the back nine left him a couple in front of Matt Sheather who lost the plot towards the end of his round. The same applies to Tex Tomer and Les Dorrington (37 points), maybe the heat got to them.
Saturdays faders bounced back to form in Sundays Ambrose with Matt teaming up with Adi Spiler. They managed to par the lot and a generous handicap gave them 29.5 nett.
Well in front of Tex and Nate Matheson 31.12 nett, very close to them was Deb Matheson, Brendan Smith and Tara McDermott, and Ozzie Smith 32 nett each. Tony Lewis and Dave Bartley were pin winners.
The mid week comp went to consistent Jenny Holmes 16 pts, the guest Tex had 15 points and Dolly Ryan won the pin. Brent Harris severley handicapped with a busted leg just missed the $1100 jackpot.
A foot closer this week the badge draw is worth $1100 this Thursday night. Thanks to Tara, Brendan, Deb and Matho for the tip top tucker last week. Kyack draw this Thursday, February 2, barbecue tea will be available as well.
