As pre-season kicks off, the Tigers new captain-coach Jacob Neill hopes to bring his own passion for the game and put it into the club.
As a proud Nyngan boy, Mr Neill has been playing with the Tigers since he was eight years old.
While moving away for a few years, Mr Neill is back for his fifth year playing in the senior grade for the Tigers.
Mr Neill said taking on the role is something that he has always wanted to do.
“I just thought now’s the right time,” Mr Neill said.
“I think that I’m old enough now … you grow up and become ready to take responsibility.”
Mr Neill remains confident that this will be a successful year, especially with the massive support from the town.
“The community is right into their football, it’s a great town for that sort of stuff.”
Entering into the 2018 football season Mr Neill is supportive of the team, hopeful they will continue to thrive.
“I think I will get the respect off the guys that’s needed.”
“Hopefully I can bring my own passion and put it into the club,” he said.
“Our goal is to get as close as we did last year.”

“I think that if we can all just put in a bit of effort and commitment, well you’re already winning in a sense.”
“Good things will come off the back of putting in effort and hard work and you know just being a good club in general. Hopefully that will continue.”
As pre-season training begins, Mr Neill encourages everyone to come along and have a go.
“You don’t necessarily have to be the best player to come down to training, everyone’s putting in, and it’s working out well so the more we can get there the better.”
“We’ve got a number of different guys, it’s good with all different football abilities.”
The reserve grade will see Brad Toole as coach, with the under 18s being guided by James Fisk.
Troy Richards and Amiee Rixon will also coach the League Tag for the 2018 season.
