On Tuesday, Gowrie Inclusion Professional, Carlyn Riches, presented Bogan Shire Children’s Services Director Nichole Jenkins with the official sign to be displayed at the centre.
The inclusion sign will be displayed on the front door to show everybody the service values diversity and recognises inclusion as a right for all children.
Bogan Shire ELC, is one of only two services across the Dubbo and western region that has achieved the requirements to display the award, which includes the development of a Strategic Inclusion Plan.
“The ELC has gained this status through an ongoing commitment to inclusive practice towards all children and families, professional development and quality care for our community,” said Ms Jenkins
This formal acknowledgement of the Bogan Shire Children’s Services team is evidence from the NSW/ ACT Inclusion Agency of an ongoing standard of excellence in this area of service provision for residents of the Bogan Shire.
