The day will include a bus tour beginning at the ‘Marra Hall’ and will tour local producers to view their Maiden Ewe flocks.
At each stop there is an opportunity for the owner or manager to discuss their production in-conjunction with provided material on each property.
There will also be the opportunity for guest speakers and specialists to be available for informative discussions and questions.
The event aims to fundraise for the Marra Hall and bring the Merino producing community together.
At the conclusion of the tour a casual Gala dinner will be held with guest speakers, judges and a fundraising auction.
The aim is to promote an inclusive enjoyable environment for producers, industry specialists and invited guests to debrief.
Organiser Ange MacAlpine said, “the day really is all about community spirit, sharing best practices and creating an environment where people feel safe to ask questions.
“Its a great way to promote the breed as well as getting a wealth of specialists in one spot that we can all bounce off.”
In terms of the competition, Mrs MacAlpine said it is not about criticism, but rather a showcase.
“It’s a way to show how different blood lines, ideas and management styles achieve different outcomes. As the same time promoting positive conversation for sharing knowledge and ideas to improve production in our area.”
Mrs MacAlpine said due to catering requirements and limited bus seats, there are only a few spots available.
Anyone interested should contact Mrs MacAlpine to see if there are spots available on 0428 470 657 or at marraevents@hotmail.com
