Golf
Lyn Webster, the spokesperson for Can-Assist was delighted with the response to Saturday's golf day, she also gave a brief run-down of what they are trying achieve etc.
Fifty four golfers in various shades of pink and green went out to battle around the course, the result was multiple dead-heat between everyone.
Winners were drawn at random and the variety and amount of prizes put on by the days sponsor’s Bill Hare and Central West Carpets ensured every player won a handsome trophy or two, in conjunction there ere plenty of long drives/straight drives/N.T.P'S and other twists to the game.
The lucky winners were Deb Matheson x 2, Mark Cashion x 2, Dolly Ryan x 2, Janine Tulenew, Michael Gibson, Roydon, Lecki Read, Sam Keating and Tristan Dal Forno. The raffle winners were Deb, Aaron Bennet and Karen Boland.
The prizes were the brainchild of Rhonda Dorrington, the excellent BBQ was cooked by the Can-Assist ladies with a bit of help from Peto and Bartles, Roydon did his gig until the wee small hours and had them dancing in the aisles all night, also Tara who gave her day up to work behind the bar.
Thanks again to Bill for his sponsor efforts, Deb who does a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes, Roydon for donating his time and most importantly the players who supported the day.
My humble apologies to Dang Holmes for it was he that bagged the Eagle last week not his mate Croc, sorry old mate.
Helen Rose had her chance at the Jack putt of $1819, she made a good attempt but dipped out. Badge draw is for $700, Golf next weekend are individual events plus show day on Sunday.
In the mid week golf Jenny Holmes 20 points beat Tex 20 points on a count back and Viv Pateman was the Pin winner.
A couple of our members Peter Murphy and Rhonda Holmes have been on the sick list, a speedy recovery to both of you.
