Fletcher Jackson, second eldest son of local farmers, Breil and Bernadette Jackson, was recently named Dux in the Certificate IV Agriculture Traineeship at Tocal College, and received the Gold Medal for excellence in the course.
He was presented the award at the Local Graduation ceremony at the agriculture college, near Paterson, in the Hunter Valley, by NSW Primary Industries Minister, Minister for Trade and Industry, and Minister for Regional Water, the Hon. Niall Blair, MLC.
The award concluded a second year of study for Fletcher, who completed his Certificate III in Agriculture in 2016. The Certificate IV Agriculture course aims to equip students for employment as senior stationhands, farm supervisors or in agribusiness.
It also prepares them for future roles as business and farm managers. Fletcher is currently putting his knowledge and skills to work on the family farm, and he is enjoying farm work and life. He loves playing footy on the weekend is pleased to come home and be part of the Nyngan community.
Nyngan Public School
Wonderful results for the Nyngan Public School at this year’s Nyngan show. Their lovely garden produce won the Champion Exhibit as well as the Most Successful Exhibitor with 13 first places and four second place.
That is super success at the show. A big thank you to Miss Atkinson and the schools wonderful garden helpers.
The students also had bright colour to the pavilion with their many wonderful entries into the drawing, painting and mixed media. Many well deserved awards when to the Nyngan Public school students.
Coming up is the cross country, Monday, May 21. Parents and community are most welcome to attend and cheer on the students. It will be held at the school from 1.50pm
