Upon arriving the kangaroos were ushered off the field, and the action got underway with the Camels immediately making good territory on the back of a string of penalties. This culminated in Zack Finn scoring out wide to see the Camels with first points on the board.
Late in the half the Bulls didn’t man up and the elusive Joe Reagan stepped through to score near the posts and the Camels held a 12-0 lead at the break. With a 12-5 penalty count against them, the Bulls had to play a man down after big prop Harry Holmes was given a yellow card for the teams mounting penalty count. The Camels capitalised and Finn scored again taking the jubilant Camels out to a 19-0 lead.
The Bulls then finally showed what they are capable of and plundered the Cobar line in wave after wave of attacking rugby. Brett Moody went over first and with time running out Jake Perko-Bennett and Trieg DuPlessis slipped through the tiring defence, unfortunately no tries were converted, and when the referee called time the visitors were a try away from victory going down 19-15.

For the Bulls Liam Durrington had a top game and picked up 3 points, resurgent flanker Ben McKillop did a lot of heavy work and collected 2 points and Trieg DuPlessis who is all class and can cover a number of position collected 1 point. Our wandering lawn bowler Trip Miles, finally got onto the field in this game and had an impressive start, the players awarding him the difference cup.
Next week at home the Bulls take on our fierce rivals the Warren Pumas, so anyone who wants to be a part of the Bulls allstars second grade team, get in touch with the club.
Women’s rugby 7’s will also feature so be sure to get down to Larkin Oval for a big day of rugby.
After the game a magnificent surf ‘n’ turf dinner will be served followed by yabby races, the yabbies specially prepared under strict anti doping rules by none other than local crustacean expert Tommy Ticehurst.
