The town is set to be a star in the latest series of the ABC’s Back Roads program, which sees Heather Ewart explore the back roads of Australia uncovering country towns and their inspiring local people.
Series producer Louise Turley said the team enjoyed visiting Nyngan that had such a wonderful story to share. "There are many layers, deeper layers in Nyngan," said Ms Turley.
The episode will take a look at the landscape of the town and feature a number of Nyngan’s known residents.
The program will take a look at those making a difference, not just within the community but also on the other side of the world.
"It’s incredible a town in the middle of nowhere can have a big heart and help people on the other side of the planet," she said.
The program is set to air on ABC1 at 8pm on Monday, July 30.
