Our First grade team were missing six regulars for various reasons but still managed to put in ia super effort before going down 44-32.
Our boys skipped out to an early 12-nil lead through tries to Jak Jeffery and Josh Merritt, but the size difference in the two teams told in the back end of the half with Parkes heading to the break holding a 22-18 advantage.

The boys could not have started the second half any better when Rob Lane sliced his way through a couple of minutes after the break we were back in front 24-22.
We had our chances after that but just couldn’t quite nail it and credit to Parkes they took their changes when they came and ran away in the back in of the half to run out 12 point victors.
Captain-coach Jacob Neill was tremendous, he deadset gave his all and was among our best for mine. James Fisk was also a standout, he’s a great little club man this bloke, he played hooker, half and second row. It doesn’t matter where you ask him to play, he gives as good as he’s got.
The Jeffery boys Dean and Jak were great. Jak has already played a full game in Juniors before backing up in First grade and played a major role in the middle. He came up with two tries and steered the side around well. His big brother Deano played well above his weight. He would have deadset gave away 30 kilos to his opposite number, but stood his ground every time. Well done mate, good to see you back playing footy.
The Reggies went down in a nail biter once again. This is the fifth time this season we have been beaten by six points or less. The tries were five a piece but we were only able to kick one conversion, which killed us in the end.
Angus Currans got through a mountain of work, he’s getting better each week and also sat on the bench for First grade. Mark Kilpatrick was another to shine as was Rob Lane and Jayden Bonnello. Big Simon was good with the footy and played big minutes, which is out of character for him. Little Terry Ryan was also good scoring two tries.
The u/18’s were gallant in defeat. Parkes are one of the top sides in the Juniors competition and our boys played them all the way before going down 28-14.
As I’ve said before this side contains four sixteen-year-old’s but they never stopped trying. The opening 20 minutes of the game was scoreless, which was a massive effort in its self by our boys.
Cooper Ryan put in another great performance. He delivers week in and week out and is going to be a great player for our club in years to come. Terry Ryan is also in the same category as Cooper, these boys don’t know how to have a quiet game. Bill Quarmby was also impressive against the big Parkes pack.

The ladies league tag came up against a red hot Parkes outfit, and although we tried hard, we were a bit outclassed.
Karly Stephens was a standout for mine, this girl improves each week and a couple of her takes under the high ball were carbon copies of her old man Troy in his day.
This weekend we are off to Dubbo to take on Macquarie.
A big thank you to everyone who purchased doubles in the state of origin series, the winners were: Game one Anthony Griffiths, Game two Marree Rose and Game three Tom Waterhouse.
Our club would not survive without your support, so a big thank you once again.
