On August 18, 3CN are hosting ‘Too New to be Threw’ market day where residents can purchase a table and sell clothing and accessories, or simply come along to check out what’s available.
Member of 3CN Carol Gonzalez said she hopes the event will not only provide an opportunity for residents to go shopping locally, but is a chance for community members to sell items they don’t necessarily want to give away.
“It’s just for those things that you wear a couple of times or who do a lot of online shopping and it doesn't fit and you don't necessarily want to give it away,” Mrs Gonzalez said.
“I’m an online shopper myself and I know what it’s like to get stuck with things and you don’t necessarily want to give it away because you've paid for it,” she said.
Residents can purchase a table to sell items of clothing and accessories for $20 which will be donated to Nyngan’s CanAssist, and all proceeds on items sold can be kept by the table owner.
“In my old town in Mt Isa they always used to hold events like these and it was very popular,” Ms Gonzalez said.

“I thought why not do something similar here and see what type of response it gets, and I thought why not sell it and support a local charity at the same time,” she said.
Ms Gonzalez also said the market day provides an opportunity for the community to take a look at their recently moved Church and check out their hall, which is available for hire by the community.
“If you don't have a table you can go shopping, if you do have a table, you can get someone to man it for 5 minutes and you can go around shopping yourself,” Ms Gonzalez said.
The market day will be held at the 3CN church at 16 Terangion Street, on Saturday, August 18 from 10am. Tables will need to be booked by August 11.
