The Outback Archies, now in its eighth year, is an annual art prize and exhibition organised by the regional arts organisation for the far west, Outback Arts.
This popular exhibition and art prize is all about celebrating the colour, creativity and spirit of our communities across the Far West.
This year sees the new and exciting changes of 2017 continue such as new categories and bigger prizes involving exhibition and mentoring opportunities.
Outback Arts has also partnered with neighbouring arts boards Arts North West and West Darling Arts to offer emerging regional artists in those areas the opportunity to be involved in such a high profile event.

“It’s a unique example of how strong the arts community is in rural NSW,” she said.
“The Archies is about providing that space and support to showcase the talented artists in our region and I think its reputation is reflected in the level of support received from entrants, sponsors and audience alike.”
“Thank you to our local sponsors for getting behind our annual art prize including our major sponsors North West Vets, Waterford Ryan Solicitors, Landmark Coonamble, CJ’s Country Kitchen, Coonamble Supa IGA. We would also like to thank Western Herald, Coonamble Times and Outback Radio 2WEB for their support,” she said.
