After numerous individuals and organisations looking to support the Nyngan community during these dry times the council resolved to establish a fund.
Residents of the Bogan Shire are eligible to apply for the assistance, with applications confidentially assessed by a committee consisting of Mayor Ray Donald, Deputy Mayor Glen Neill, General Manager Derek Francis and Councillor Victoria Boag.

The council have said they understand that it is not only the farming and grazing communities which are suffering from the prolonged dry, but also those who are reliant on the agricultural sector for employment and income.
Council resolved assistance will be provided in the form of vouchers redeemable at registered businesses in the Bogan Shire.
The level assistance provided will depend on the amount of donations the Bogan Shire Drought Appeal Fund receives. Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so at the Nyngan branch of the National Bank, BSB 082-564 Account number 50-594-0639.

The application forms will be available on the Bogan Shire Council website from Monday, September 10, or at the Library and Shire front counter.
The completed forms can be returned to the Shire front desk or emailed directly to droughtappeal@bogan.nsw.gov.au. All applications will be treated confidentially.
