Nyngan Tigers league tag coach Aimee Rixon said being part of the team and working with Loans at training and on game day has been “pretty awesome” and has seen the dedication from all the girls each week.
“I’d like to congratulate the league tag girls on such a fabulous season,” Rixon said.

“This year we didn’t have a huge amount of success in terms of winning games, but I really feel our successes come from the commitment of the girls showing up to training twice a week, to the games and never ever giving up.”
Rixon said despite the team’s varying levels of experience with the game, the patience of the experienced girls, and the determination of the new players always “giving it a crack” is what made her most proud this season.
“I really feel [the girls] can go out on a win here and that the Nyngan league tag girls would have to be the most improved in Group 11 rugby league, particularly toward the end.”
Rixon thanked everyone for the support of women’s rugby league, and all who have helped Nyngan’s league tag this year including the committee, volunteers and supporters who braved the cold and early starts.
“Some of those days were pretty terrible, but cheering us on being the first game is something that’s really important for us.”
“Another massive thank you to supporting women in rugby league.”
“There’s been a really big movement with that and its really appreciated that we can recognise and really support women in rugby league from league tag to eventually, hopefully tackle, so thank you for all of that and your support throughout the year,” she said.
