Comittee members Tara McDermott and George Holmes were presented the award at the Tigers’ presentation evening on Friday night.
Club President Glen Neill said the efforts and commitment of these two individuals to the club is something which doesn’t go unnoticed, and hopes their efforts will be passed on to the next generation of club members.
“In any club there’s always those people that excel and stick with the club for years,” Neill said.
“George Holmes should be treasurer for the country ... the time and money he’s raised for this club has been outstanding.
“I could rave on here forever about the good things you do for the club but I just hope that some of these young blokes here have a good look at what goes on and the effort that these people put in.
“Hopefully we have some young fellas there in the next few years step up and help make the club go like it does today,” he said.
Neill thanked Tara McDermott for her dedication to the club and acknowledged her recent achievement being named Group 11’s Volunteer of the Year as acknowledging the importance of her involvement in Nyngan.
“She is Nyngan rugby league through and through,” Neill said.
“Thank you for the help you do for this club we wouldn’t survive without you.”
“It’s a great effort and well deserved and I can’t say enough about both of you, but hopefully there’s a young lady out there somewhere that might have ambitions to help us run a football club in the future, and this is the person you want to model yourself on because there’s none better.”
