Between October 18 and October 21 all aviators were under one sky as people far and wide joined Australia's recreational and sport aviators for a social, informative and educational fly-in weekend.
Visitors got to see sport, certified, vintage and hand-built aircraft up close, air displays, were able to participate in seminars and workshops and receive information from industry exhibitors.
There was also plenty for a family fun day out with a petting zoo and jumping castle for kids and food and drink stalls available.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Visitors were also able to tour the Narromine Aviation Museum, which currently attracts up to 5000 visitors per year.
The Museum has recently undergone a number of renovations including new carpet in the entrance, a roof over the historic engines, new lighting and a bookcase for an aviation library.
The original section of the museum has also been re-painted which Chairman Peter Keirath said took volunteers just three days to move all displays and put them back.
Lighting from the original Aero Club was also restored and used in the museum.
“People will be surprised,” Mr Keirath said.
“We’ve captured that late 30s to 40s age, and I think it just adds some more character to what we’re trying to do,” he said.
On Saturday night the event hosted ‘Dinner under the Stars’ with ticket holders treated to a dinner and evening with guest speaker Matt Hall, a third-generation pilot and former Royal Australian Air Force fighter combat instructor and international unlimited aerobatic competitor. Mr Hall is also the first Australian to be selected ti compete in the Red Bull Air Race World Championships.
