Nyngan High School performed strongly in the 2018 NSW Higher School Certificate, with 20 students completing the HSC across 27 courses.
Course achievements in the HSC are reported on a band scale from 1- 6, with band 6 being the highest achievement receiving 90% or above in a course.

Key successes for Nyngan High School in 2018 from the 18 courses examined include:
- 8 students received Band 5 results (80% or better in a course)
- 21 Band 5 results were achieved from a possible 78 areas studied
- 10 courses received results that were at or above state average including: Hospitality VET, Biology, Community and Family Studies, Standard English, general mathematics, Modern History, Legal Studies, Music, PDHPE and Society and Culture
Nyngan High School Principal Michael Gibson said he was extremely pleased with the commitment of his teaching staff in 2018 to support the HSC students.
“One of the most satisfying aspects is that we are achieving above average results in a wide variety of courses, demonstrating our commitment to a broad education where students can apply a wide variety of skills suited to their individual needs,” Mr Gibson said.
“Also the strong performance of many students throughout the year was also reflected in consistently strong HSC examination results,” he said.
The staff and students of Nyngan High School wish to congratulate all graduating Year 12 students on their HSC results.
