Bogan Shire Seniors Week celebrations will take place from Monday, April 8 until Friday April 12, with a full program of free activities for those aged 60 and over.
Nominations are open for the 2018 Bogan Shire Senior Citizen of the Year, for residents who contribute to the community. Nomination forms are available at the Shire front office and at the Library. The winner will be announced at the Bogan Shire Senior Citizens morning tea on Thursday, April 11.

The week will commence with a church service at the 3CN Church on Monday, April 8 at 10am, followed by morning tea.
On Tuesday 9 April there will be a special golden oldies bowling mornings at the Nyngan Bowling Club followed by a light lunch. It starts at 10.30am with names to be in by 10am. In the afternoon there will be a movie screening at Mick Glennie Hostel with afternoon tea for anyone in the community who is interested.
The Nyngan RSL Club will hold a Seniors Week Bingo session, with free books and a morning tea on Wednesday, April 10.
The annual Bogan Shire Council Seniors Week morning tea at the Town Hall will be on Thursday. The Nyngan High School hospitality class will cater for the event, and the Senior Citizen of the Year will be announced. This is a free event for senior citizens and all are welcome.
On Friday, April 12, the Nyngan Bowling Club is hosting a 1950s themed lunch, so dive into the back of the wardrobe and dig out those fabulous '50s outfits for a fun afternoon.
Throughout the week this year there will also be a special exhibition of Lynne Hodge and Lyn Quinton's artworks in the Nyngan Library. A special picture hanging rail is being added to the walls to make the Library a special exhibition space. Mrs Hodge and Mrs Quinton's artworks were recently exhibited at the Dubbo Western Plains Cultural Centre.
