I have been very proud of these young kids and the way they have been training, their respectful manners, in the gym is something their parents can be proud of as well.
Will Richards, Sonny Knight and Jayde Rose have been training hard over the past two months to compete at Bankstown in Sydney for their pro amme fight night that took place on March 30.
What a night this was, 600 Bankstown locals screaming for their fighters to win, a very intimidating experience for our boxers but they took it in their stride.
Will Richards, Sonny Knight and Jayde Rose have been training hard over the past two months to compete at Bankstown in Sydney for their pro amme fight night that took place on March 30.
Will Richards was the first of our boxers, a very nerve-racking experience for a young 14-year-old kid, to box in such a big event.
Will boxed well but unfortunately didn't get the win but has had three very-hard fights to start off with, keep your head up, I know you will turn into the boxer I believe in.
Jayde Rose was up next, she did an amazing job, against a much bigger opponent.
She didn't let the fact that she came eye-to-eye with her opponent's belly button worry her.
Jayde was way too strong. The big over head rights from Rose had the other lady terrified. This was Jayde's first win, proud of ya Rosie.
Sonny Knight was the second main event, fighting for the Sydney Metro 75kg title. The tension was building up, he didn't get the name Sonny "Lights Out" Knight for nothing.
He won all three rounds, not biased or nothing, but he didn't look like losing.
Sonny's boxing is only getting better and better, I believe with the right attitude and dedication, Sonny has an amazing future in all aspects of boxing. In the end was a very proud coach of all of the three boxers that went to Sydney.
Thank you to the family and friends that travelled to support our team, and thank you to the people in our community that support The Shed Boxing Club.
