Captain Coach Justin Carney lead from the front and the Tigers showed plenty of grit to grind out a hard fought win. Our boys were a bit clunky at times with the ball, but we really stood up in defence and that proved the difference.
Jacob Neil and Ned Dawson were dead set standouts in the middle, the energy these pair brought to the side picked the rest of the boys up, we were forced to defend out line for a ten minute period in the second half when we were clinging to a 12-10 lead. The Tigers kept turning up for each other to keep Forbes at Bay.
Jacob was the best on ground for mine he kept driving our boys forward and Ned, Bubba, Loma did a mighty job through the middle, our interchange bench were also good.
Benny Hogan and Harrson McAnerny, played vital rolls in the middle third of the game, they are both very similar they go a bit unannounced but are always on hand to take the tough hit ups of your won line and rip in in defence.
Hammond was also good as were the halves pairing of Daryl Cubby and Jai Merritt with a couple of more runs under our belt i'm sure our attack will be where Justin wants it.

We missed four genuine chances on our left edge with the last pass going astray but this was only our second hit out for the year and those combinations will certainly improve.
The Reggies also hit the ground running coming away with a 24-16 victory, this was a high quality game of footy with both teams getting through there sets early on.
Fobes trotted out a big pack but our boys held firm in the middle and I'm sure Tooley would be wrapped with their effort. We were missing half a a dozen regulars and the make shift halves pairing off Cameron Bourke and Clayson Couley did a super job filling in.
Camo was our best, he went up a gear in defence and was also dangerous with the footy. Gus Curreans was also a standout, he never stops, his defence was first class. Big Centre Liam Durrington was also good and will be knocking on the door for first grade selection if he keeps that up Utility back Clinton Edwards provided the spark every team needs, he scored a super try to ice the game in the dying stages and was dangerous each time he touched the footy.
Special mention to the three U/18's who sat on the bench for Tooley, Cooper and Terry Ryan and Cale Dunn all stepped up with Dunny make a Seniors debut to remember, he scooted 60 metres to score with his 1st touch of the footy a brought his cheers squad to their feet. It was great to see the amount of supporters who made the effort to make the long trip to Forbes to cheer the Tigers on.
Thanks to all of them, it definitely makes a huge difference to the players when they know they have the support behind them.
The U/18's stuck with the big Forbes outfit for the majority of the game and it was really only fitness that proved the difference in the end. These boys are coming together from all over to form a side up for the Tigers and it was a mighty effort by the boys to compete like they did. Col Piper and Sonny Knight never stopped and were the picks for mine, Alex Don was another who went well.
The girls were right in their game until the final 5 minutes when Forbes scored two late tries to see the final score 18-nil to Forbes, the score line wasn't any indication of the game and with a little bit of luck the result could have been different.
This weekend we are a home to Westside with the girls kicking off a 11.30am.
