The program is designed for rural and remote communities and delivered by people who have experience of living in small communities.
"We want to inform people about mental health and suicide, so they can learn basic skills around intervention and prevention," event facilitator Luke Smih said.
The three hour workshop gives people tips and strategies to deal with mental illness or mental distress on a personal level. It also educates people on signs to look out for in others, and ways to reduce any stigma associated with mental illness.
Anyone who is connected to the land or living in a rural area are invited to come along.
"Teachers, publicans, pharmacists - anyone with an interest in strengthening and giving back to their community," he said.
The sponsored workshop will be in Nyngan on May 13 at the Rugby club house from 2pm until 6pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
