An arts ball to 'make the Marra wet again' was held to raise money for the small community 155 kilometres North of Nyngan.

The bi-annual event was hosted to replace the annual Marra Maiden Ewe competition and tour, which was cancelled due to persisting drought conditions.
President of the Marra Events Crew Ange MacAlpine said it was a "fabulous evening".
"We felt given the climatic conditions it more important then ever to make sure we have fun events to get the Marra locals off farm," Mrs MacAlpine said.
"The night was a fabulous evening of great people, amazing food, hilarious entertainment - including a few locals commandeering the microphone and giving the band a break and a fun filled auction surrounded by all the beautiful art on show."

Music was provided by Orange band and Marra regulars 'Don't call me Shirley', and catering was provided by Deer Dingo catering.
Mrs MacAlpaine said there were a number of artists' on exhibition including Jill Kelly, Liz Cross, Molly Mckay, Merren Turnbull, Anna Smith, Rochelle McKillop, Skye Bragg as well as a 37-piece photography exhibit from Outback arts in Coonamble.
She also said there was a generous amount of donated goods from a number of local people and businesses.
"There was a small auction. Simon Bell and Justin Sanderson of Richardson and Sinclair kept us all entertained, who knew an auction could be so fun," she said.
"We also had a $500 gift voucher for flight centre kindly donated by Don MacDonald wool and Richardson and Sinclair, which was our lucky door prize."
Mrs MacAlpine said the Warren Shire Council also assisted donating $2500 toward the event, and all funds raised would go toward renovations and up keep of the Marra Hall.
"A small donation will also go to a local charity yet to be decided," she said.
The President thanked the small committee including Haylee Wilson and Amy Green for their support.
"We are assisted by the broader Marra community who all chipped in for setup and pack down," Mrs MacAlpine said.
"A special mention to all those who helped, there are too many to individually name.
"Being such a small community, and one so isolated, it is a major task to get thing like the ball off the ground and we appreciate any support we are given."
