After running close to first on many occasions, Rodney Robb (Nyngan) trained Work And Chat has finally crossed the line in front, doing so at the Bligh Picnic Races at Mudgee Racecourse on June 15.

The three year old, before his Mudgee visit ran second at Moree, which Moruya native Ms Maddison Wright who jockeyed the gelding on Saturday, says has become quite a habit of his.
"He has been a bit funny in the past, like he's run second a lot so it's a bit tricky," she said.
"If you pull him up he won't run on, if you let him go too hard he'll wait for the other horses."
Work And Chat took out the Burrundulla Maiden Plate (1000 metres), which Wright attributes to the horses quick jump from the gates and an addition of blinkers.
My horse has been really quick out lately, I have ridden it a few times and I know it's really quick out of the gates so I sort of just jumped.

"Work And Chat likes to comfortably lead, and it can keep going as well so I wasn't worried, I just let him travel.
"When it got to the straight, he was looking around a lot. We put the blinkers on today which I recommended at the last start because he tends to wait for his mates when he gets to the front, and I think that's why he ran well today.
"Blinkers made a really big difference."
Robb's runner came in ahead of Our Nuisance (Wellington) and Haven't We All (Gulgong).
