Gadfly established a weight-carrying record for the race when beating a good field in the WIN Duck Creek Picnic Cup at Nyngan on Saturday.
Allocated a staggering 74kgs by the handicapper, the Mark Ward Condobolin-trained Gadfly humped 71kgs following a 3kgs allowance for apprentice jockey Angela Taylor.
Austin and Zaphod were the leaders in the 1250 metres Cup with Gadfly settling fourth in the eight horse field.
Despite the hefty weight, Gadfly ($6.50) took control to win by almost two lengths from Blue Channel (Caitlin King, $3.50) and Austin (Maddison Wright, $4.60) with two-time defending winner Rehanaat ($3.20 favourite) finishing fourth.
Taylor, who rode her first winner in May, scored a double at Duck Creek when also winning with the Wayne Marsden Menindee-trained Late Return ($4).
Late Return raced outside the leader before beating Pullman Brown (Maddison Wright, $3.60 equal favourite) and Madison Gardens (Steven Kehoe, $3.60 equal fav.) in the 900 metres Class 2 Handicap (900m).
Ashley Boyd also had a winning double with Lenroy ($3.20) and Maria Elisa ($4).
Trained at Bourke by James Hatch, Lenroy rounded up the field to impressively win the Maiden Plate (900m) while from fifth on the turn the Sharon Jeffries-trained Maria Elisa made a strong, wide run to account for Vonnida (Tim Grace, $4) and Three Rar (Angela Taylor, $5) in the Open Handicap (900m).
Wendy Baker's Getting Ready and the Rodney Robb-trained Tapanui also won on Saturday.

GOLF
Five Birdies on the front nine by Chicky Parry including a hat trick on the 6th/7th & 8th. He also had Bogeys on the 1st & 9th. The back nine didn't go to plan with a four over round of 38.
His worst hole was the 13th with the wind at his back, he sprayed them everywhere. Similar Golf on the next couple of holes.
His result was 63 nett, winning score except for Janine Tulenew, who bobbed up with a 62 nett to snatch the win, a good effort by her as she had 4 double Bogeys in her round and will surely lose a bit more handicap.
Tim Tulenew fared next best, with 66 net, N.T.P went to Chicky.
No Sunday golf or mid-week golf. Next weekend the ladies head off to Warren for the Western Districts Rose Bowl, at home its the July Monthly Medal on Saturday and a Stableford on Sunday.
RUGBY LEAGUE
Tigers back on track
The mighty Tigers got the season back on track with an impressive 38-18 victory over the Parkes Spacemen.
The return of Captain Coach Justin Carney had a massive impact on the side.
His presence on the paddock lifted the rest of our own line.
It was a block busting run of our own line by Justin which produced our 1st try, he exploded through the middle of the Spacemens defence and sprinted 50 metres before linking with Flash Widders who was pulled down a metre out from the line.
From the play the ball Jai Merrit scooted over to give us the prefect start.
We dominated most of the 1st session and held a handy 18-6 lead at the break. Jacob Neill and Loma were dominant in the 1st session, they both got through a mountain of work and looked dangerous with the footy.
Jacob's move from Hooker to Lock freed him up to play of his natural running game and he was superb.
We had a bit of a scare in the middle third of the second half where we were starved of possession and Parkes scored a couple of trys to put themselves back in the contest.
Once we held onto the ball the brilliance of Justin and his centre partner Clinton Edwards got us over the line.
The forwards laid the platform, Ned Dawson was awesome in the middle he caressed the ball with no self preservation and would have made 50 tackles, his front row partner big Gerald Mackay was also strong in his stints.
Hooker Luke Matheson can take a lot of credit for the performance, he controlled the Ruck and his work in holding up their markers got the Tigers rolling up the middle third of the field, he also made a heap of tackles.
Hard to single out just one player, the Merritt brothers in the Halves were very good but Loma, Jacob, Ned and Matho were the pick for me.
Young Winger Terry Ryan also impressive on debut, the Reggies continued along their merry way with a solid 34-6 victory over Parkes. The scoreline didn't really reflect the game, our boys had to defend for long periods and did well to keep them to one try.
New dad big Jeff Lennon celebrated the arrival of his little girl with a barnstorming performance, his carries of the footy got our boys going forward and along with Pot Holes was our best.
Guss Currans was another who never stopped, he plays a bit like Ned Dawson, this bloke showing no respect for his body going flat out, head first in every collision.
In the backs our halves pairing of Sheather and Coxy were solid as was Liam Durrington and Winger Connor McDonald who showed blistering pale in a sixty metre untouched run to the line to score.
The U/18s were very good once again and looked like they were heading for victory leading 18-16 with three minutes left on the clock, a mistake from our boys allowed Parkes to regain the ball and score the match winner right on full-time.
Bad luck boys, the result could have quiet easily gone our way.
Hugh Wesley was very good as was Cale Dunn and Jedd Smith.
The girls produces their best performance for a couple of seasons to hold second placed Parkes to a nail biting 14-all draw.
Coaches Aimey Rixon and Gerald Mackay were over the moon with the girls efforts It would be unfair to single out any one player, it was a super team effort, well done girls
This weekend we are home to the Wellingrton Cowboys which will be the match of the round, it will be a full house at Larkin Oval so get there early to cheer the Tigers on.

Rankings
The competition's top two continue to surge, while the Tigers finally get back to winning way.
There may not be a lot of movement at the very top, but the weekend's scores have resulted in plenty of movement in our weekly power rankings.
1. Wellington Cowboys (last week: 1)
They may not be top of the ladder but they're still the form team in the competition and looking every bit a side cruising towards the finals.
Wellington smashed Westside on Sunday, running out 90-0 winners in a match that didn't last 60 minutes.
An injury to Aidan Ryan remains a real worry heading into the business end of the season but the depth is there to cover any lengthy lay-off.
The Cowboys machine is in full-flight and it's up to them now to maintain the rage.
2. Dubbo CYMS (last week: 2)
CYMS maintained its derby dominance and top spot on Saturday, and the minor premiership is now within the reach of the Dubbo powerhouse.
Again, it wasn't completely perfect and discipline was a bit of an issue but you can't argue with results. CYMS just gets it done again and again.
A lot of players have gained top grade experience this season and that is only going to serve the side better in the coming weeks.
3. Forbes Magpies (last week: 5)
The Magpies have scored two wins and a draw in the past three weeks, seeing them move up to third place on the ladder.
It hasn't been the smoothest of seasons so far for the men in black and white and they've only won five of 10 games so far in 2019, but things are still ticking along.
No Forbes side can ever be written off and there's signs this side is slowly but surely finding its groove.
4. Macquarie Raiders (last week: 4)
After a string of promising performances the Raiders were dealt a bit of a reality check when being beaten by CYMS on the weekend.
There's no doubt Wes Middleton's men will take plenty from the defeat, their first in five weeks.
It still hasn't completely come together and the Raiders are still outside the top five on the ladder, but things are looking up for a side which is just two points of third spot.
5. Parkes Spacemen (last week: 3)
Two losses in a row for the Spacemen and after sitting second just a few weeks ago the Parkes side is now just clinging on to fifth spot on the ladder.
The trip to Narromine next weekend is a massive one now for the Spacemen, given sixth-placed Macquarie is expected to get past Westside with ease.
Whispers of new arrivals point to a timely boost for a Spacemen side needing to quickly get backs to its best.
6. Nyngan Tigers (last week: 6)
That's much more like it!
After a shocking run of results the Tigers have now won two in a row, with the weekend's gutsy win over Parkes just the kind of victory needed to boost the confidence.
The Tigers sit fourth but with the battle for the top five heating up the weekend's win was a much-needed one.
Justin Carney's men next welcome Wellington to Larkin Oval in an almighty clash, one the Tigers are pumped for after the Cowboys ended their winning streak earlier in the season.
A win in that game and Nyngan is right back up there with the top two.
7. Narromine Jets (last week: 7)
Basically copy and paste from many other weeks.
No lack of effort from the Jets in another hard-fought loss.
They couldn't match the Forbes Magpies and struggled to make any real impact on the scoreboard against the defending premiers.
The Jets have done a lot right this season but it's now been four losses on the trot.
The focus has got to be on maintaining the development done so far and ensuring 2019 is a real platform for the seasons to come.
8. Dubbo Westside (last week: 8)
Games involving Westside are starting to get called off earlier and that's a real worry.
The effort and heart within the club can only be admired but they've got to keep going.
All that work won't mean as much if things fall apart late on in the season.
It's tough, but the Rabbitohs have just got to keep on fighting.
