Chicky Parry was just about back to his best in Saturday's par event. He finished with a good score of +two off his five handicap. The off washout here and there, the other fifteen holes were all pars, a good trick in the desert.
Like conditions likewise Deb Matheson gave the winner a fright with her +two, however two washouts on the back nine gave her no chance in the count-back.
Crocodile Reid was third with all square in a count-back with Tex, Pat and young Matho. Sunday's stroke had Tex all fired up, he bounced out with eight straight pars and had a huge lead at drinks, a back nine of 39 gave him a 66nett.
A couple better than Pat who missed a couple of short ones again. Chicky was a further shot back with 69 nett, just missing an eagle on the seventh by inches.
The ladies mid-week went to Jodi Steward by a narrow margin 34 points to her with 20 on the back nine. 33 points each to Jenny Holmes and Dolly Ryan with Jenny winning the count-back. Pin winners Dorro and Dolly for the week.
Cobar had their Veterans last Friday, our 90+ year-old Rex Rees won B grade with 41 points Greg and Deb Matho won minor prizes plus NTPs.
Next Saturday is a three-person Ambrose sponsored by Fuctls and NPE Mining Contractors. Everyone is welcome any combinations of teams with a 12.30pm kickoff. Sunday is a Stableford.
