A high fire danger has been forecast in the upper central western plains.
North West Zone district coordinator Inspector Jillian Butler said she was concerned the hot and windy weather across the next few days was only the start of a very long fire season.
"We are anticipating deteriorating fire weather conditions for the next three to four days," she said.
"Thursday will be of particular concern with a heat trough expected to extend across NSW accompanied by some freshening winds, and slightly stronger winds are predicted for Saturday."

The Inspector has urged members of the public to be cautious with lighting any fire in those conditions.
"Whilst we understand that there is a significant lack of fuel across the North West Zone and Bogan District, we are asking landholders to be cautious with their use of fire through this warmer and windier period, to prevent any risk to themselves or their communities," she said.
The RFS will continue to monitor burns which are occurring across the area and firefighters will be prepared to respond as needed.
The Fire Control Centre should also be notified at least 24 hours prior to lighting a fire.
If you see a fire unattended call triple zero.
