The committee hosted a Footy Day last Wednesday, September 11, which included a mufti day with a number of activities, cake stall and raffle.
Wendy Robb from Nyngan High School said students on the committee thought they would join the Footy colours day initiative during September to raise money for a local charity.
"They decided that they would like the donation to go to Nyngan Can Assist branch so they could help a local child that may suffer from cancer either now or in the future," she said.
"We had a cake stall at recess with lots of lovely treats like peppermint slice (to die for) loads of fairy bread with too many roosters cupcakes and not enough Manly Sea Eagles.
"We ran a raffle for those that supported our mufti day and had different activities happening at lunch like passing the footy, an agility test and a game of touch.
"There were a number of great prizes for all events like footy jumpers, scarves, beanies, footy bags, water bottles and heaps more."
Mrs Robb thanked Byron Warren and Western NRL Development for their very generous donation of these great prizes.
