Bogan Shire Council implement level three high water restrictions

With drought continuing to grip the state and temperatures beginning to rise, the Bogan Shire Council have announced level three water restrictions, commencing October 1.

The council at its September meeting resolved to increase water restrictions to level three high restrictions for all residents in the Bogan shire including Coolabah, Girilambone and Hermidale.

The daily water target is 220 litres per person.

Level three high restrictions require people to only water their gardens and lawns between 6am and 8am and 6pm and 8pm every second day in line with the 'odds and evens' scheme.

Properties with an even house number, i.e 2, 4, 6 are permitted to water their lawns and gardens on any dates of the month that are even numbers; June 2, 4, 6 and so on.

While the opposite applies for properties with an odd house number.

Properties that cover a range of house numbers, i.e. 2 - 5, are expected to observe the dates that correspond with the first house number of the property.

Properties that do not have a street number are treated like an even number property for purposes of determining water usage.

Information leaflets regarding what these restrictions mean are being distributed to all residents in the shire and copies will be made available from the council's administration building, Nyngan Library, Bogan Shire Medical Centre, the Visitor Information Centre, Nyngan Post Office and the Nyngan Newsagency.
