Alex was in Nyngan last Friday when he met with students inspiring them to be the best version of themselves.
Born in Russia, Alex moved to Australia when he was seven.
He made his Olympic debut at 19-years-old competing as Australia's sole biathlon representative at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic winter games.
Alex's debut came after just two years in the sport, having switched from cross country skiing in 2008.
Four years later in Sochi, Alex made history becoming Australia's best male biathlon an an Olympics when he finished 45th in the 20 kilometre individual event, and 73rd in the 10 kilometre sprint.
