Tigers versus Cobar Roosters
After our fair share of ups and downs during the off season the mighty tigers have kicked there 20/20 campaign into gear with a trial against our old rivals the Cobar Roosters .
A healthy crowd travelled to Tom Knight oval to watch the u18s, league Teague and and a senior squad go a round.
The juniors set the scene for the day with the two sides neck and neck all game with our tigers just holding on to get the cash 30 to 24.
There is some handy players in this team they just need a few more numbers to help them out.
Cale Dunn, Xander Wood and Billy Quarmby were very good from the get go leading the way for the host of young blokes the Tigers had on display.
Will Richards and Digger Barrow gave good accounts of themselves as did all of the young blokes who stepped up from the sixteens.
There is definitely some bright signs for coach Troy Richards to work with. The girls started the season in fine fashion proving to strong for the Roosters girls.
The young girls coming through the junior league system look the goods, Egg is coaching the girls this season and with he's off Aimee Rixon I'm sure they will mould the girls into a force to be reckoned with.
The seniors game was neck and neck all game with the tigers holding on to come away with a 34 to 32 victory.
The Jeffery boys Jak and Dean stood out as did our new recruit big Mike Stark, the big English man was very impressive in he's ist hit out for the tigers.
It was a good opportunity to give our young blokes a taste of seniors grade, Terry Ryan and Cale Dunn were impressive as was Col Rob Piper who was in every thing.
Captain Coach Jeremy (squeak) Smith was also a stand out. The tigers will be having a couple more trials before the season proper kicks off , details of the trials will be advertised.
