Officers attached to Central North Police District were alerted after a Toyota Camry crashed through a front fence and into the foyer of the building on Opal Street about 5.10am.
A 38-year-old Lightning Ridge man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.

The building has sustained serious damage to the front doors and foyer. It was unmanned at the time.
