The 49-year-old was last seen at her Dover Heights home after midnight on November 12, days after the Australian Federal Police (AFP) raided the property as part of an ongoing investigation by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

On November 10 ASIC obtained Federal Court orders against Ms Caddick and her company Maliver Pty Ltd, including bans on them removing assets from Australia and on her leaving the country.

The matter was listed for a case management hearing on Friday before Justice Jayne Jagot.

Stephanie Fendekian, for ASIC, sought a hearing date for its application for the appointment of a provisional liquidator to Maliver, and a receiver and manager of Ms Caddick's property.

Lawyer Jane Muir provisionally appeared for Ms Caddick, referring to a Queensland power-of-attorney appointing her brother, Adam Grimley, or her husband Anthony Koletti, in both financial and health matters.

But she raised the possibility the document may not be operative as the witness certificate may not have been properly completed as three boxes were not ticked.

If the power of attorney wasn't operative, Ms Caddick was not legally represented.

Ms Muir said the "missing person dimension" had caused a problem because of the unusual circumstances and the lawyers were obtaining information from her brother and husband.

She also understood the matter was now a murder investigation.

"The people who need to give instructions are dealing with the fact that their sister and wife are currently missing," she said.

"There are two scenarios - she may return or she may not return."

ASIC sought a December hearing date while Ms Muir suggested February.

She submitted ASIC has not shown why the matter was so urgent as to justify a hearing before Christmas, noting the bank accounts had been frozen.

ASIC says the orders are needed to protect consumers while it investigates concerns Maliver may be providing financial services without an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL).

Further, it alleges the AFSL of another company may have been used without authorisation and investor funds may be unlawfully dealt with.

Ms Muir said Ms Caddick had only been missing for two weeks, while the regime for the management of the estate of missing persons started after 90 days.

Ms Fendekian acknowledged the "difficult circumstances" relating to Ms Caddick's current status as a missing person, but said the application was aimed at protecting the interests of investors.

The case was adjourned to December 8 so legal advice can be obtained about the power of attorney.

Police said they have been told Ms Caddick may have left the home about 5.30am on November 12.

She did not take any money, mobile or personal possessions with her.
