The meeting was attended by branch members from Narromine, Trangie, Warren, Hermidale, Enngonia, Nymagee, Cobar and Bourke, along with members of the host branch.
Following the Association motto, president of Nyngan branch, Leigh Thornton extended a very warm welcome to all visitors before group president Brenda Carter took the chair to preside over the meeting.
Included in the agenda were discussions on the setting up of education grants for children in the Nevertire area, plans to celebrate the Association's centenary in 2022 and the compilation of a Centenary History Book.
Also on the agenda was discussion of the upcoming state conference, to be held in Bega in May, the winding up of the Association's Drought Relief program and a report on given assistance that amounted to a massive $19 million dollars.
Education ranks high on the CWA list of priorities and this year, four students from Trangie and six from Narromine students were awarded grants to assist them with their education.
The handicraft competition saw a number of beautifully crafted items presented for judging, with a garment made by Colleen Boucher of Cobar receiving the award for champion entry.
The Far Western Group of CWA also supports a public speaking competition between schools, with the far west area to be contested in Bourke on May 25 and the mid west area to be contested in Narromine on May 22.
Finalists from these events will compete against speakers from CWA's Oxley Group in June.
Congratulations were extended to a number of CWA members including Carolyn Egan of Narromine and Pam Simpson of Bourke whose commitment to their communities was recognised with citizenship awards on Australia Day.
Life memberships of CWA were awarded to Dawn Elder and Dorothy Larson of the Nyngan branch and Margaret Gudgeon of the Hermidale branch.
Dr Sally Torr of Bourke and Colleen Boucher of Cobar were also recognised as 'Hidden Treasures' by the Department of Primary Industries.
The raffle was won by Leigh Thornton of the Nyngan branch with second prize going to Stephanie Van Lubeck of Warren.
