8.32am: Stacey Webb is on her way to the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The oral hygienist at Dubbo Community Dental Clinic was crowned the 2014 Bedgerabong Showgirl, a title which she said she was humbled to receive.
After a successful round at the Showgirl Zone Finals in Bathurst on Saturday, February 28, Ms Webb will be representing Zone Six at the Sydney Show, along with the Cumnock and Blayney Showgirls.
She is thought to be the first Showgirl from Bedgerabong to have qualified for the Sydney finals in more than 20 years.
8.24am: Come and meet the bestselling author of Aussie romantic comedy Rose River at either the Dubbo or Wellington Libraries.
Margaret Osborn will hold an author talk at the Wellington Branch of the Macquarie Regional Library on Thursday, March 5 at noon, and a talk at the Dubbo branch at 5.30pm on Thursday, March 5.
Rose River is a funny, romantic comedy set in the beautiful Australian outback.

► PORT MACQUARIE: There have been no major breakthroughs in the search for William Tyrrell but the lead investigator in the case has warned the net is continuing to tighten on those potentially involved in William Tyrrell’s disappearance. “If I was responsible, or had some involvement, in William’s disappearance I would be feeling concerned,” Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin said. Searchers near Bonny Hills have found “some things”, but he admitted the week was a “minor hiccup” in the ongoing investigation into the toddler’s disappearance.
► GRIFFITH: Griffith couple Naomi and Chris Brugger, representing My Name is Chris, handed over a petition with thousands of signatures. The petition, which attracted close to 4000 signatures, was created in an attempt to encourage the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) to place Brentuximab Vedotin on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) when the committee meets this month.
► GLEN INNES: Crash investigators are trying to piece together the moments before a car and school bus collision yesterday, which injured five people, including three children.

► New figures show most emergency department patients at Dubbo Hospital are waiting longer for treatment but at the same time being seen faster than the average NSW citizen.
► Dubbo MP Troy Grant is refusing to be drawn into an argument with his Labor opponent about his ability to juggle the roles of Deputy Premier, cabinet portfolios and Member for the Dubbo Electorate. Stephen Lawrence said he would not seek or accept a Labor ministry position if he and the Labor Party were elected at the upcoming election and called on Mr Grant to do the same.
► Alkane Resources continues to pursue the $1 billion it needs to launch the Dubbo Zirconia Project (DZP) but knows that getting a commitment from financiers will only come when "key approvals are in place".
► A man who played a significant role as a farmer, real estate agent, sportsman and bush poet will be remembered during a memorial service at St Andrew's Chapel in Dubbo on Thursday. Malcolm Graham Tink died at Lourdes Hospital on February 26, just a few days after his 82nd birthday.
► In mid-January police were alerted to the possibility of fraudsters driving to Nyngan from Dubbo to cash cheques at local businesses. The cheques had bounced upon presentation at the bank with some businesses losing thousands of dollars.
