NSW, Victorian floods: Watch as communities isolated by floodwaters

The flood emergency is expected to continue for months across some parts of western NSW, with above average rain predicted to last to February.

The state government might has thrown in $15 million to help repair flood ravaged roads, but experts say this is far from enough to cover the damage bill.

In Victoria, there are 73 alerts in place, with two at emergency level.

Here's how you can help our flood-affected regional communities bounce back.

There are 102 flood alerts in place across NSW, with 16 at emergency levels and thousands of people subject to evacuation orders.

The body of 85-year-old man Ljubisa 'Les' Vugec was found in floodwaters in Eugowra on Saturday. He went missing on November 14. He is the second person to die in the village during the flood emergency.

Communities in Lightning Ridge, Walgett, Wee Waa and Collarenebri are experiencing widespread flooding and isolation.

"They are experiencing isolation islands, it's about the size of Switzerland that's isolated in this area," NSW SES spokeswoman Tina Bergin said.

Food and medical supplies are being dropped to these communities.

Along the Lachlan River, major flooding is predicted for Condobolin and Euabalong on Wednesday or later this week, with communities told to prepare to evacuate.

In Forbes, the major flood level has dropped and damage assessments are underway before residents will be allowed to return to their homes. This Central West town has been flooded twice in two weeks.

Along the Murray River, the major flood level is expected to be exceeded in Deniliquin in the NSW Riverina this week. Residents should evacuate before 10am on Wednesday.

"Roads and bridges may close and be impacted," Ms Bergin said.

A 57-year-old woman who ignored road closed signs, drove through floodwaters before and then had to be rescued has been fined by police.

"This is not over yet, this could occur for weeks or months as water moves downstream," Ms Bergin said.

The flood emergency continues across northern parts of Victoria, with an evacuation order in place for Karadoc.

People on the riverside of Cootamundra Avenue and the lower reaches of Edey Road near the Murray River should evacuate immediately.

An emergency warning issued on Sunday for Irrak remains in place.

"It is now too late to leave as Rudds Road is closed due to its deteriorating condition," Vic Emergency said.
